On Aug. 29, new principal of Academy Street Elementary School Lorie Beard hosted a read-aloud event for students in various grade levels.
Lorie read, “The Fantastic Bureau of Imagination” by author and illustrator couple Brad Montague and Kristi Montague, citing the read-aloud as the perfect way to interact with and get to know students before the start of school while also making reading fun. The event also gave parents the opportunity to meet Beard before the start of school on Sept. 7.
