Academy Street students complete scavenger hunt to learn their library

Fourth graders at Academy Street Elementary School learned the ins and outs of their school’s library through an engaging library scavenger hunt.

Students were broken into groups and given a checklist. Each group’s checklist held a different set of criteria for students to follow. For instance, students were asked to find a book by a particular author and write the title, find a series of books and count how many were in the series, find the non-fiction section and look for a book about a particular topic and more. Once each group finished the tasks on their sheet, they unlocked information on who their special guest reader would be.

To end the fun and educational hunt, Principal Ms. Beard joined the students for a read-aloud of, “Island Trilogy” by Gordan Korman. The series focuses on adventure which happens to be the fourth-grade class’s theme for the year.
