Dear JWY Middle School Families,

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday vacation and a restful new year. I would personally like to thank all of you for your support throughout the year. As we begin 2024, I would like to remind everyone of the many amazing things that are still to come here at James Wilson Young Middle School.

We have field trips planned for each grade level this year:

• 6th grade will be going to Medieval Times on May 3, 2024.

• 7th grade will be going on a two day-one night overnight trip to Boston, Massachusetts from May 16-May 17.

• 8th grade will be going on a Statue of Liberty/NYC Cruise/Lunch dance on May 9.

We are looking forward to bringing our students on these wonderful trips and exposing them to many wonderful learning opportunities outside the classroom.

We will also be kicking off our late winter sports season in the coming weeks. Be sure to check out our amazing students athletes in action. Sports Schedules can be accessed by clicking on the following link: http://www.sectionxi.org/v3/Schedules.asp 

Our middle school musical this year will be Willy Wonka, Jr. Please be on the lookout for information regarding auditions in the coming weeks.

We will have informational parent/guardian meetings as well coming up in March. All meetings will be at 7:00 PM and be held in the JWY MS Auditorium. The dates are as follows:

• Monday, March 4- Current 7th graders who will be moving into 8th grade

• Monday, March 11- Current 6th graders who will be moving into 7th grade

• Monday, March 18- Current 5th graders who will be moving into 6th grade
